Culture Night, Dublin, Freemason hall, Ireland, Prof T. Clive Lee, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Surgeon's hall, TCD Zoological museum
So, tomorrow is Culture Night in Dublin. There is an incredible range of places opening their doors to the public until all hours. Here is my rough plan for the evening…
6pm- Prof T. Clive Lee, Dept of Anatomy will deliver a lecture on the subject of: Surgeons’ Halls – Building the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland’. The talk covers the founding of the College in 1784, the building of its first hall in 1810, its expansion in 1827 and subsequent developments.
Then a trip to the Freemason’s Hall where “visitors will be welcomed to the esoterically styled meeting rooms of this Victorian gem”. I’ve never had the chance to go before so looking forward to a good nosey around!
I only recently realised TCD has its own Zoology museum and am delighted to see they have tours for the public on Culture Night, so I have booked a place on one.
And since I’ll be in the area, I may aswell have a wander into the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Can’t resist another look in the Patrick Dun Libary if its open.
